Yes, you read that title correctly, everyone.  After 24 years, the long-running videogame magazine Nintendo Power is ceasing publication.  A victim of the declining magazine industry and Nintendo's lack of interest in renewing their contract with Future Publishing, who took control of the magazine in 2007, it is unknown how many more issues will be released before it is gone for good.  


Personally, I find this very sad news, especially given the loss of fellow videogaming magazine GamePro late last year.  It seems there isn't much of a place for niche magazines anymore, and even the most iconic of titles isn't safe from being shut down.  It seems GameInformer is poised to become the new go-to magazine for gamers everywhere, especially with their rising sales from the partnership with GameStop.
