It was interesting to hear your lists for game music. Some good music was picked by both TM and Odin. However, I'm a little disappointed in the lack of love for the Banjo series. In my opinion the Banjo series has some of the most memorable scores I've heard. Grant Kirkhope also did a lot of Rare's music way back when that is really worth listening too. Anyway I'd like to hear from more of the community on their favorite themes and music.

I think this theme right here is my all time favorite:

It's from the last part of the game. You have to walk into a generator room or something and turn the power on, and when you get back outside the theme kicks in. And even if the sudden epic tune playing in the background while you catch the guards to the main villain's castle wasn't enough, the theme fits so damn well.
If you haven't played the game it's from I'd highly recommend to play it.

Oh man, I remember Ape Escape from way back when lol. I think another soundtrack that gets overlooked a lot is Glover. I remember that soundtrack being so relaxing, which was a smart move cause guiding that stupid cyrstal around got frustrating.

If we would've prepared a list beforehand then I'm sure Banjo would've been on there, but there are just so many great music tracks that sometimes you just gotta go with what you think up. Speaking of which, here's a great FF tune.

I believe this thread should be dedicated to good video game tracks. If you find one you like then you post it here! I'm sure there are plenty of people who would like to share their favorite video game music with others.

Another great track that I remember: Jet Force Gemini Title Screen

Ok, so I'm a huge music nerd in general. Therefore, videogame music is something I absolutely love and have strong opinions are (see my rant in the prior topic about it).

First off, I have to second Odin's comment on Chrono Trigger. The game has the best overall soundtrack of any game I've ever played. Not only does each track do a fantastic job of setting the scene and mood, but as a song itself they stand up well on their own. In particular, I love "Wind Scene".

Second, I have to give a nod to the Purple Coin music from Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2. I actually enjoy this more than Gusty Garden, which it takes cues from, because the faster pace gives it such a joyful feel.

Third, the Kingdom Hearts version of Dearly Beloved. The song has been remixed again and again for each game, but the simple piano and faster pace of this version make it my favorite.

Fourth, the third battle theme from Glory of Heracles. This is an RPG on the DS that most people don't know, but it's got fairly solid music. This theme in particular really captures the intensity and uncertainty of this part of the game mixed with a flair befitting the shift in location.

I'm going to stop myself here because otherwise I could ramble for ages about this topic.

I'd also like give a shout out to the Metroid Prime series for a lot of it's music.

Only 2 of the tracks from the 1st game, but the series is filled with excellent music.
